Emergency Service Interruption: 3 July 2024

Emergency Service Interruption: 3 July 2024
03 July, 2024
Edlyn Ruiz Stoll 949-2837

Due to the impending approach of Hurricane Beryl and the current predictions on the severity and proximity of the storm, it has become necessary for the water supply on Cayman Brac and Grand Cayman to be temporarily interrupted. This action is necessary to ensure that adequate water is available for distribution once the storm has passed and to protect public health should water pipelines be damaged.

The Water Authority will turn off the public water supply in Cayman Brac at 6:30 pm., and in Grand Cayman at 9:30 pm.

Customers are urged to store water for drinking and non-drinking purposes at this time if they have not already done so. Once these preparations are complete, customers are urged to TURN OFF the customer shut-off valve, especially if they are planning to leave their property to shelter elsewhere. This will help prevent unexpectedly high-water bills and property damage should a leak occur in your property’s plumbing during the storm. Strict adherence to these instructions will help speed up the restoration process once the hurricane has passed.

Updates as to when water service will be restored will be made once the ALL CLEAR has been given.
