Cayman Islands Water Industry History

Cayman Islands’ experience with desalination started in the early 1970’s when the growth in tourism and population began to drive development in Grand Cayman. In 1973 the Cayman Water Company (a Consolidated Water Co. Ltd. subsidiary) was established to provide water and waste water services to a private development, Governor’s Harbour. Today, Cayman's success and sophistication as a residential, tourism and business destination, demands a high quality of service, which the Water Authority of the Cayman Islands and Cayman Water Company are proudly able to deliver.
