Water Authority – Cayman Project Angel Tree Donation

Water Authority - Cayman’s (WAC) annual ‘Project Angel Tree’ has recently collected donations from staff totaling four hundred and forty-five dollars with the Authority matching staff donations towards the project. On Friday, January 29th, 2010, the staff at Water Authority-Cayman presented a check of eight hundred and ninety dollars (CI$890.00) to The Sunrise Adult Training Center. The funds will be used toward the training, support and services for the clients of the Sunrise Training Center as needed.
Project Angel Tree is organized by the Authorities, Human Resources department which chooses a different charitable organisation to donate to each Christmas. The donations are given by the staff in a monetary value with the Authority matching these donations to the project. Dr. Frederick-van Genderen, commenting on the donation, emphasized: “The Water Authority is proud of our staff who continue to show support and give generously to our Project Angel Tree each year. This generosity benefits the people who need it most at this special time of year. We recognize the importance The Sunrise Adult Training Centre has in the community and wish them all the success on achieving their goals.”
Sunrise Adult Training Centre Director, Ms. Roberta Gordon, expressed her appreciation to the Board, Management and Staff of the Authority, “The donation from the Water Authority Staff through the Sunrise Caring Association was a delightful surprise. It is donations like this from the community that help us go beyond the basics provided by our budget to improve the service we provide to Adults with Disabilities in the Cayman Islands. We are carefully considering how we can best utilize the funds. We have a special project in mind that it will pretty well cover. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness!”
