Water Authority Cayman Sponsors the Lean on Me Committee

The Water Authority Board recently approved a donation for $2600.00, to support the Lean on Me (LOM) Committee. The committee was founded by a group of dedicated young professionals in 2006 who donate their time and raise funds to support local persons in need of assistance whether financially or physically. The Committee determined that some of the children of George Town Primary School are in desperate need of funding for school uniforms and lunches. The LOM committee will use the donation from Water Authority-Cayman to provide healthy lunches for these young growing minds.
Water Authority Director, Dr. Gelia Frederick-van Genderen commented: The Water Authority is honoured to support this very important programme which will provide our youth with the tools and fuel they need to learn and grow into aspiring young men and women of our community. We would like to thank the dedicated members of the LOM committee for their hard work in raising the funds required to meet the essential needs of the future generations of the Cayman Islands. We wish the LOM Committee all the best with their upcoming projects in the community.
Ms. Derri Lee, Chairperson, Lean on Me Committee stated We are very grateful for the generous donation from the Water Authority. In these difficult economic times it is very much appreciated. I have spoken with the Principal of George Town Primary and she is very much touched by the generosity.
