The Water Authority is a statutory body established under the Water Authority Law of 1982 and became a fully functioning statutory organisation in 1990. The primary mission of the Authority is to provide public water supply and sewerage services; and, to protect and manage water resources, which includes the regulation of abstraction and disposal wells and the excavation of canals and quarries.
